I was quite saddened to hear of Arthur C Clarke's death several weeks ago. I was reminded of a marvellous day in Colombo, Sri Lanka, where I interviewed him for DIVER (I think this was in 1999).
He struck me someone who could have achieved anything he wanted to, and although he is famous for his science fiction novels, he isn't quite as well known for his diving exploits.
The thumb prints should open up a full page for you to read.
And for budding photojournalists this is the sort of thing editors are looking for.
